It is important to note that animal behavior including human and feline is produced by the combination of environmental and genetic factors. In general, Bengals are intelligent, affectionate, active, and extremely curious individuals.
Anaaki likes hanging out in the vanity when I am applying my make up or brushing my teeth. She studies every single move with attention. She learned (and likes) to open the drawers and get inside. She got stuck a couple of times while trying to crawl her way to other drawers. For some reason she is also obsessed with my husband’s medicine bottles. Thank goodness they’re kid and cat proof!
One has to be very careful because Bengals are very intelligent and can get in trouble because of it. One of my Bengals learned to open my husband’s two weeks pill holder. She opened every single lid. Fortunately, I was close by and took it away from her. Now it is kept in a safe place.
It is a consensus that Bengals love water. Some swim, others take showers with their owners. My Bengals love to play with water. They stick their paw in a open faucet in the kitchen when I am working there, or they run like crazy when they hear some faucet opening up somewhere in the house. They also like to get inside my dog’s water bowl and play.
Another characteristic of Bengals is that they like to climb. They love heights, so having a high climbing post is a must! Well, Bengals will climb almost everything. Take a look...

Bengals readily accept other animals. They like sharing their space with other cats and dogs.
Bengals have doglike personalities. They are very easy to train. So you can start teaching your Bengal to do tricks! Bengals also like to fetch, specially soft objects.
Bengals are curious by nature. Our blue marbled boy Yanhi is very curious. He follows everybody, even strangers who visit our house. Once, two people came to our home to service the air conditioner. Yanhi was very interested in the guys tool box, he was determined to open it. He tried really hard. When he got bored, he just followed the guys around and even tried to climb the ladder to get to the attic with them. They were very impressed with our boy. They told us that dogs were always the ones to follow them around and cats the ones to hide.
Bengal cats have an interesting way of burning excess calories. They do this through a process called “zooms.” I just call it the “crazy mode.” It may occur at any minute, under any circumstance. Your kitten may be playing, resting, or sleeping and all of the sudden he starts running like crazy, jumping over furniture, the dog, or anything on his path. He may stop to check if anybody is watching and then continues with his rampage until as suddenly as it began, it stops.
