Ekambar Bengals

When you bring your kitten home confine it to a small room. Keep your kitten there for a few days until it adapts to your family. This confinement gives the little one a sense of security. Every day make sure you show the kitten the rest of your house. Do this for 3 or four days, then move the kitten food, water, and litter to your preferred places.

During the first few weeks watch you kitten carefully when it is around other pets. It will take a couple of weeks for other pets to  become familiar and accept your kitten.

Grooming your Bengal should be part of your routine. Because Bengals do like water, baths won t be a problem. Use a fine-tooth comb to comb your cat. Something I really like about Bengals is that they shed very little.

In general cats learn quickly, however, they are not good at following orders unless it is convenient for them. Therefore, if your Bengal kitten is learning the wrong behavior, correct it. Use compressed air or just say no . I found out that those are the best ways to discourage a kitten from for example, scratch furniture. Don’t use corporal punishment.

Because Bengal cats have affinity for heights, falling from high places is always a present danger. Don t let your cat have access to balconies or roofs.

Bengals love water. Don t leave the toilet lid open if you have a kitten, it could be dangerous; and if you have a hot tub,  keep it covered!

Always use a leash when you take your Bengal outdoors. Remember that you own a valuable cat. In general, protect your investment by keeping your Bengal indoors.
